SEDO promotes sustainable fisheries development, marine resource conservation, and inclusive blue economy growth by strengthening coastal livelihoods, fisheries value chains, and community-based marine resource management. We believe that sustainable development in coastal communities can only be achieved when marine resources are managed responsibly, fishing communities have access to economic opportunities, and ecosystems are protected for future generations.
Our programs support sustainable fisheries management, coastal community development, fisheries governance, market systems strengthening, and marine conservation initiatives. We work with fishing communities, government institutions, private sector actors, traditional leaders, women, and youth to enhance productivity, improve incomes, strengthen resilience, and promote the sustainable utilization of Somalia’s vast marine resources.
