Puntland, Somalia: SEDO Somalia has successfully conducted training sessions on the Farm2Go digital platform for farmer cooperatives and schools benefiting from the World Food Programme (WFP) school feeding program in the Bari and Nugaal regions of Puntland State. The sessions, held at SEDO offices in Bosaso and Garowe, equipped participants with the skills needed to strengthen farm-to-school linkages and streamline transactions using the innovative application.
Farm2Go, developed by WFP, is a digital platform designed to connect farmer cooperatives directly with schools under the school feeding program. The application makes transactions more efficient, creates new market opportunities for farmers, and enables them to engage with bulk buyers and establish sustainable trade partnerships. By digitizing the supply chain, Farm2Go reduces inefficiencies and ensures that schools receive fresh, locally grown produce while farmers gain reliable income streams.
The training sessions focused on practical use of the platform, including how to manage orders, process transactions, and build lasting partnerships between farmers and schools. Participants expressed enthusiasm for the platform, recognizing its potential to transform agricultural value chains in the region. This initiative reflects SEDO Somalia’s commitment to leveraging technology for agricultural development and food security.
