Garowe, Puntland: The World Food Programme (WFP) Somalia Country Director, Elkhidir Daloum, recently paid a joint monitoring visit to project sites in Garowe where SEDO Somalia is implementing activities under the Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) Project. The visit provided an opportunity to assess progress, engage with beneficiaries, and strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two organizations.
During the visit, the Country Director toured two greenhouses currently under construction at Al-Amal Orphan School in Garowe. Once completed, these greenhouses will produce fresh fruits and vegetables for the school’s feeding program, promoting a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet for students. The initiative will also reduce costs for the school, which previously had to purchase produce from the market. Mr. Daloum expressed his appreciation for SEDO Somalia’s smooth implementation and capacity in delivering the project, commending the organization for its commitment and quality of work.
Following the field visit, SEDO Somalia representatives met with the Country Director at the WFP Somalia office in Garowe to discuss the way forward for ongoing projects and explore areas of mutual interest. SEDO Somalia has been a reliable partner for WFP across Puntland for more than ten years, with a shared commitment to improving food security, nutrition, and livelihoods for vulnerable communities. Both organizations reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening this partnership and expanding their impact across the region.
