Organizational Background
SEDO (Social and Environmental Development Organization) is a non-profit, non-political organization established in 2010 by Somali intellectuals dedicated to advancing social development and environmental sustainability. Headquartered in Bosaso, Puntland, SEDO addresses key challenges including piracy prevention, environmental degradation, and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods.
The organization works to strengthen community resilience, improve public service delivery, and foster collaboration among government institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Through its programs, SEDO contributes to peacebuilding, recovery, and long-term development across Somalia.
SEDO is currently implementing a project focused on strengthening the capacity of local farmers in the Bari and Nugaal regions. To support this initiative, SEDO is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Field Officer.
Position Summary
The Field Officers will support the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of field-level project activities under the Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) project, ensuring effective delivery and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor field activities to ensure effective implementation
- Coordinate with local stakeholders, beneficiaries, and project partners
- Support data collection and reporting on project progress
- Ensure compliance with project guidelines and timelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Project Management, Agronomy, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in supervision or field-based roles
Required Skills
- Strong coordination and supervision skills
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office and related tools)
- Ability to work in diverse and remote environments
